I am very grateful
Decades of service
So little appreciation
Often made fun of
Disrespected even
Long uneven toes
Too long, two short

My hiking shoes approve
My bicycle shoes as well
Sandals attract attention
Lases preferred, straps
To hold me in place
Always get me where
I need to be
compassionately
