in sight

This drawing IS a big deal for me. I don't even believe I did it. I understand time patience seeing better than before I did these copies. This is a mark making I had no idea I could do because even though I could see the shapes, values, light, my hand went to the two dimensional. What I know now is my early training, work and teachers that attracted me, influenced my hand eye mind. Anything we repeat over and over for many years takes time patience and seeing differently to gradually incorporate those changes.

Twig Pencils

in progress

I learn  by copying the master
As all masters have done before me
(curiosity willingness expansion joy)

If a fellow student 'artist' doesn't paint a subject
because she doesn't know how yet
(belief  fear  self judgement  criticism)

Is that the same as painting and not sharing
either thru exhibit, selling, teaching
(how to share my art and not be a business)

Yes. As of now I don't believe it is worth sharing
How will I know it is if i don't do 'it'*
(*exhibiting marketing sales 'business')

What I don't know
How to do art for arts sake
(art as playing is how I approach my work)

Ahh!
