It does help when I see how it's done. And I still run into the mechanics of reproducing a pattern, in this case laying out the palette. Louise even painted a demo, so I got to see how she messed with the colors. So different than Pablo's method. Valuable to see that difference.
Chart my colors, list and mix, have some relationship to memorizing names, meanings, relationships. Palpitations just writing about what I was working on this afternoon. Very distressing when the simple is confounding, damning. List of colors to include on a palette, and the order in which to place them. The learning curve crashes on me sometimes.
Painting is much simpler. I don't mind painting outside the lines. Overlapping shapes. Layering colors.
